If you’re as impatient as we are, you’re likely worked up to near frothy anticipation over the new Slitatta tires. Well, after more delays than we’d care to share, the tires are now here and ready for your skidding pleasure and security.
The Slitatta tires are 700×28 wunderkinds with a thicker rubber compound and a tough anti-puncture belt in the casing to keep you riding longer and changing fewer flats. The casing is tough and the tread pattern is grippy without being squirmy like some other tires.
We ride too, so we designed the tires to ride well and not just be pretty… we’re sure you’ll like that approach.
Grab a pair (or more) now, before our first delivery is gone… trust us on this one.
Not only that, but the new Sellino saddles are in stock in all colors!
AND… as if the above was not enough, the new Bullo plastic pedals are here too! Now you can ride and own the first plastic pedal designed specifically for fixed gear riders.
You’ve likely noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here lately, but it’s been for good reason; our online store is now up and running! For those of you who have not been able to find a nearby retailer or who are online ordering fools, we’re proud to have our simple and functional store ready to serve you!
This is important though; as much as we’re happy to take your money and ship you some goodies, we strongly recommend working with your local retailer. We support our local retailers and encourage you to do the same- your cycling experience is always made better by having good relationships with your local shops and you’ll likely skip the freight charges we have to charge as well.
Anyway… the store is up and running and as new products arrive, you’ll see them here and in the store. New product news will be coming soon as well… so stay tuned for that too. If you’ve been sitting with your face glued to your monitor anxiously waiting for a way to buy online… now you can.
UV points out a few things about the wheels; weight and the anodized color being primary.
Weight- as Brad points out in his review, the wheels are purpose built for durability and using 36 spokes and a deep rim add weight, for sure. The wheels are meant to be as robust as possible and hopefully hold up to polo, freestyle trick riding and almost anything else you can think of to do with the wheels. They ain’t light- but they are strong!
Anodizing- Brad is correct again when it comes to the colors not matching perfectly. We try our best to have the wheels built with the closest matching colors as possible. Sometimes batches of hubs and rims are anodized at different times, so it is harder to control, and then the different alloys take color differently, etc. Brad’s also right that gold is one of the hardest colors of them all to match as well. So that’s why you do frequently see multiple hues of gold on bikes built with parts from different companies… it’s a tough color.
All in all, we feel like the review is one for us to be proud of- especially given the comments about durability. The guys at UV rock and we’re glad they’re giving the wheels an honest shot.
We’re more than a little excited to announce that we’re very proudly teaming up with one of the very best fixed gear freestyle riders around; Devan Council!
If you’re not familiar with Devan, then you need to be! Not only is she one of the very best FGFS riders around, she’s also mighty damned cool and intelligent- working on a graduate degree this year. She’s a great rider with a fantastic personality and she can teach you a thing or two about philosophical theory… as well as barspins.
Devan will be a part of our Brev M flow team/ Product Test Lab, along with Gus Molina and Jimmy Whittemore (more details on these two coming soon as well). Not only does she bring her intelligence to the crew, but there is no denying that having her female perspective on things is going to be pretty beneficial as well.
And in her own words;
“First off, I just want to say thanks so so much for this amazing opportunity. I am really excited to get to work with Brev M and Masi! I’ve definitely been getting very excited about all the new things you guys have been up to, and I’m so glad that I get to be a part of it all. I love that you’re truly making an effort to do everything the right way the first time around and provide products you can stand behind. I really can’t express in words how excited I am about being a part of the team, and again, I just want to say thanks so much!”
Devan- we’re excited to have you working with us too. Here’s to hoping it’s a relationship that lasts a long time!
Stay tuned for more rider updates… it’s about to get rad.
Paligap is a great partner and is well positioned in the market to help us get our great products in your sweaty hands. So, pour us a pint, order up some bangers and mash and get the dartboard ready- double on, double off! We’re on the way and we’re gonna be thirsty… really thirsty.
We’re still in the process of building some things around here in cyberspace and the interwebz, but you gotta take a few minutes to dig around on the Products” page and see what’s cooking around here. The main page doesn’t have images yet, but if you check out the drop down list, you’ll notice a handful of new items that are on the way soon… stuff that you are gonna want bad.
New forks, new saddles and a few other tasty tidbits…
Pardon our e-dust while we get things wrapped up, but feel free to get your slobber on.
Meet the all new Brev M Bullo plastic pedal. These are the first pieces to pop out of our recently completed molds… and we’re stoked!
Here are the details on these awesome pedals;
Bullo Pedal
Similar to the BMX plastic pedals on the market that are so popular, but designed specifically for use by aggressive urban riders. The side “windows” of the pedal body are compatible with Velcro foot retention straps without having to break out any tools and grind the bodies away. The grip is aggressive enough to work with rubber soled shoes without ripping the skin off your shins. Without or without straps, the Bullo pedals are tough- just like you.
Resin plastic body
9/16″ steel pedal spindle w/ loose ball bearing
Colors- Black, White, Glow (glow in the dark)
We’re looking at seeing these babies arrive from production in the Fall of this year… so you’ll need to exercise just a hint of patience. It’ll be worth it though…
